This is Dia from Nepal

She's been working with us since .... and is taking care of...

She loves crafting felt and creating new color combinations.

MEET THE LOCALS
  • DESIGN

We are inspired by the beauty of culture and travel, and we always start with colour! We find ourselves drawn to the unique handwoven colour combinations that both the men and women wear in remote villages of Nepal and Thailand. Once we've fixated on a certain colour for the season, it's amazing how many products fit the colour!

  • SAMPLE

Once we have an idea for a product we work hard to bring it to life. This process involves close work with our master tallor, Dia. Together we measure, cut, draw, add pockets, tear or stitches, add ribbon, add more ribbon, take off ribbon, add lace, and then sleep on it for a few days.

  • PRODUCE

All materials are arranged in Chiang Mai and transported to Dia's village via ourselves or public transport. Dia organizes and cuts materials, and then distributes the work to other women in her own village and villages nearby. This system allows women to have an income after marriage when they move back to the village from the city. Whereas before this system was in place, there might be one woman in the village sending money home to the family, now there are several working from home, thus impacting the entire community through financial growth and education.

  • Our artisans are based in Nepal. This is a picture of us and them in the fabric.

    DISPATCH

Once products are completed they are collected at Dia's house and then sent back to Chiang Mai where they undergo a rigorous quality control process with Adun, our trusty do-everything, know-everything, right-hand gal! Adun organizes staff to tag, package and box products for shipping. Anf off they go to foreign lands!
